A few more pictures at a shrine (and it’s miniature variations).
After that, I found a summer festival was setting up in the town, and got to watch a group of traditional drummers for a bit. This festival was probably larger than the one in Ina, but I didn’t stick around for the parade.
I went on to watch a movie (Pacific Rim) at Okaya’s movie theater, the closest one to where I live. (Okaya is about an hour-long train ride, for reference.) Movie theaters are not as common an attraction in Japan as in America, so tickets are quite expensive. The theater room I went to was small, but there were only a handful of other people watching this particular movie. (Perhaps most people opted for the 3D variation, which was dubbed into Japanese.) It was a good film though, much better than I expected.
